Windy Hamlet Farm, located on 50 acres in the charming central Massachusetts town of West Brookfield, is truly a family farm. Our extended family of Icelandic sheep, who are famous for their earth tone fleece, provide us with the wool to produce truly unique felted clothing.

Our sheep are special!

We have quickly discovered that sheep are very special. We do not sell our sheep nor do we slaughter them - each one is needed to grow their special coat of wool and contribute to the welfare of the farm.

Our Philosophy of farming as it relates to the environment is that what many think of as environmentally friendly is simply a re-creation of the natural order of things. We think this is most easily acheived on a small scale.

As of Spring 2007 the flock consists of 37 ewes and wethers. We use all our wool in our felted products - all of the sheep are important to the development of the farm.

Organic Wool at Windy Hamlet Farm
Weaving is a recent addition to Windy Hamlet with our purchase of a rigid heddle loom and a large tapestry loom. We also sell wool to other fiber artists for spinning or felting.
